House of Waters is the confluence of multiple streams. With immersive studies in India, Senegal, Japan, the Americas, and beyond, House of Waters has synthesised a new and unique sound. For sixteen years, Max ZT (hammered dulcimer) and Moto Fukushima (six-string electric bass) have carefully crafted a combined voice. Their rare instrumentation allows for the two prolific composers to create a distinct sound, and a compelling and captivating style.
Fluidity and improvisation are at the core of the music of House Of Waters and so is the core of our custom hand-drawn logotype.
The typographic logo system is designed to be in a state of flux, its rhythm is ever changing but at its core it is the same.
Drawing inspiration from classical letterforms, the logotype is a blend between modern and classical, while paralleling House of Waters’ acoustic quality with the analogue and textured look of wood letterpress type. Some of the graphic elements are borrowed from the three main instruments played in the band — hammered dulcimer, bass guitar and drums.
The logo system consists of 6 different logotype formations, one of which is a primary logo.
