About

Bombay Duck Designs (BDD) is a boutique Graphic Design & Illustration studio based in Bombay, India. The studio was founded in 2008.

Our image-making approach lies at the intersection of graphic design, contemporary illustration, and art. With a wide arsenal of tools, work methods and mediums, our work has proven effective for music & cultural projects, brand identities, publications, exhibits, murals, installations, curation, motion graphics, animation, and stage design.

We are a small yet specialized team and take on selective projects. We have worked with Google India, Eicher Motors, Goethe Institute Mumbai, Great State Aleworks, TARQ, Hunger Inc, Diageo, Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt Ltd, GitHub, WPP, Red Bull, Nike, Only Much Louder, Bacardi, and many other clients.

Apart from commercial projects, we also work on self-initiated projects like conceptualizing and curating exhibitions/art projects, documenting our surroundings in various forms, and creating zines, books, maps, and art prints.

BDD was founded by visual artist Sameer Kulavoor in 2008. Since 2015, the studio has transitioned under the creative direction of Zeenat Kulavoor, a multidisciplinary artist. Originally established as an Illustration studio, BDD has since evolved into a versatile Art, Design & Illustration hub.

Both, Sameer Kulavoor and Zeenat Kulavoor, have their independent practices and more information can be found on their respective websites.
