Catalogue Design for TARQs exhibit - A multi-media collaboration between photographer Prarthna Singh and writer Snigdha Poonam. Curated by Skye Arundhati Thomas.
For the 2024 edition of all TARQ exhibition catalogues, we've established a consistent design language to unify all publications this year. Introducing a dual binding system, we separate textual content such as essays and artist bios from the artwork, while still allowing creative flexibility with text and design elements inspired by the artist's work.
This edition of the catalogue features a distinctive, single-colour screen-print on an Indigo blue coloured paper that borrows from Prarthna's bold yet classic series of portraits. Some important snippets from Skye’s essay are translated into single-colour screen prints on the middle section of the cover.
Inside, the text is a single colour offset print - printed using a special Pantone shade colour and the images are a 4 colour offset print on coated paper, creating a dynamic interplay of printing methods and textures for an immersive reader experience. The catalogue is bound together with a white running stitch.
