Catalogue Design for TARQs exhibit - ‘Modern Romance and Other Deaths’ - a solo exhibition by Apnavi Makanji.
For the 2024 edition of TARQ exhibition catalogues, we've established a consistent design language to unify all publications this year. Introducing a dual binding system, we separate textual content such as essays and artist bios from the artwork, while still allowing creative flexibility with text and design elements inspired by the artist's work.
The cover is crafted from a deep emerald green paper that complements the artist's diverse body of work. Title details are screen-printed in white on the paper, while elements inspired by the artist's pieces are translated into single-colour screen prints.
Inside, the text is a single colour offset print - printed using a special Pantone shade and the images are a 4 colour offset print on coated paper, creating a dynamic interplay of printing methods and textures for an immersive reader experience.
