Empowerment: Art and Feminisms is a travelling exhibition by Goethe-Institut and Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg, curated by Andreas Beitin, Katharina Koch, and Uta Ruhkamp. Showcasing 31 artists from around the world, the show is structured around seven thematic fields and travels to Pune, Mumbai, New Delhi, Kolkata, and Colombo.
This multidisciplinary exhibition focuses on feminist approaches to contemporary art, the voices and rights of various gender and social minorities, and looks at inclusion at all levels.
The identity uses a palette of red, black, and white, with the red drawn from two works in the exhibition The Scale of Injustice by Kawita Vatanajyankur and Untitled (from the Listen project, Iran) by Newsha Tavakolian. The logo plays on the word “power” within Empowerment, acting as a masthead across all applications.
Four logo variations, typographic patterns, and a system for event collateral together create a visual language that shifts between digital and print while maintaining a unified presence.

Empowerment Events, is an adaptive visual system designed to effectively categorise the various events, talks, workshops, and announcements that are part of the exhibition.

The catalogue reader brings together works by these 31 artists, organised into seven thematic fields, alongside essays, talks, and interviews.
It features the Empowerment pattern across the cover, red gilded edges, and an exposed spine with bound sections printed with the exhibition title. The book is offset printed on 100gsm Map-litho paper using two-colour and five-colour printing, with Empowerment red as a special Pantone. The brand palette is used to colour-code the themes and texts, and the entire catalogue reader is typeset in Nimbus Sans.
