NH7 Weekender

NH7 Weekender is an annual, multi-city and multi-genre, music festival held in India. Created by Only Much Louder and it is among the largest South Asian arts festivals. It began in Pune, India, as a three-day, multi-genre, music festival in 2010.

From branding and communication design in the years 2011 – 2015 to doing on-ground and stage design in 2016 and 2017. We have created brand identities, illustrations, typography, posters, hoardings, logos, merchandise, on-location environment design and stage design, curated The Periphery Art Project, designed wayfinding systems and independent publications; over the span of a seven year partnership with Weekender.

Taking inspiration from the ‘Weekender vibe’, people, moments, well-known lyrics and bands, urban/pop culture references, Pune-Bengaluru-Delhi-Kolkata quirks, each year had a distinct visual identity that was designed to reflect the unique vibe of the festival.

The perfect space for being experimental, we were able to explore several techniques and styles like screen-printing on cloth or having an exclusively typographic visual language, each exploration bringing its own specific set of challenges. In 2014, we designed the Bacardi stage 'EYES' backdrop to have several animated loops playing within, thus setting the stage alive at the happiest music festival of India.
